The new CNG member’s area functions much like the old one- your initial login will be the email address you registered for your account with, and the password you chose when you created the account.
Now, once you’ve logged in with your original information, you can change your username to something other than your email address.
Step One: Login at the Members page using your original email address as your username and then your password.(Click here if you cannot remember your password. )
Step Two: Go to Edit My Info/Change Password in the sidebar ,and choose to “change my username” ( You can also get there by clicking this link. )
Step Three: Choose your new username, underneath your current username. It should be a combination of letters and numbers, no spaces, no symbols. Your username is case sensitive (Upper and lower case letters), so you will need to write the username down and it is bets to use all lowercase letters. Then press the “save changes” button. You will then be required to log in using your new username and original password.
We strongly suggest that you change your username to something other than your original username (which WAS your email address for the old CNG website). If you have a different main email address, and you change your email in your profile, it may become difficult to remember what the original email username was.
Do you need to update your contact email? Want to update your profile? You can do that from the CNG Members’ area:
Step One: Login with your most current username and password.
Step Two: Click the Edit My Info/Change Password link in the sidebar.
Step Three: Change the information that needs to be updated and then you must press the “submit” button at the bottom or your new information will not be saved. Please be sure to read through the TOS (terms of service) before clicking update. It is your responsibility to keep your profile, password, username, and understanding of the CNG Membership Area terms of service up to date.
Your email address important to your account. If you lose your password, you can reset your password by triggering the “lost password” function in the CNG Members’ Area. You will be sent a new temporary password, which will arrive in your email address associated with your CNG Profile (again, it may not be the same as your username).
Should you not receive your new password, you may want to check your bulk email folder in case your spam filters are set to capture any autogenerated emails.
If you no longer have access to your original email address to retrieve your new password, you will have to create a new CNG account. Once your new account is established, please email to CNG Members’ Area administrator to delete the original accounts. We ask you do this to keep the number of duplicate accounts in the CNG Members’ Area at zero.
With your account now established (or re-established), you can use your CNG membership to its fullest with one simple move: add your LinkedIn Profile! Without your LinkedIn profile, fellow CNG members cannot contact you with questions and networking opportunities, and you will miss important, timely discussions in the CNG LinkedIn Discussion Group.
You can sign up for a free LinkedIn account here, and once established and verified, add it to your profile with these steps:
Step One: After creating and verifying your LinkedIn account, go to your profile and copy your Public Profile link
Step Two: Log into your CNG Members Area account and click on the Edit your info/Change Password sidebar link
Step Three: Choose the Edit My Information link
Step Four: Paste your LinkedIn Public Profile in the LinkedIn field.
Now people will be able to contact you from the info in your LinkedIn Profile (so be sure to keep it up to date).
Did you meet another member of CNG and want to get their information? You can look them up and get their LinkedIn profile by using the member’s area:
Step One: Login, and then click the “List CNG Members” link in the sidebar of the member’s section,
Step Two: Go to Search Our Members. You can find a member using their first name, last name, email, LinkedIn Profile, all fields. You can also look alphabetically by clicking on the letters- which will search by last name.
Step Three: Network!! Once you’ve found the CNG Member you’re looking for, click on their LinkedIn profile, which will open their current public LinkedIn profile in your browser. If they don’t have a LinkedIn profile, or an updated LinkedIn profile, you won’t be able to view their informations (and its yet another reason to create a LinkedIn profile and keep it up to date!).
If you are still having issues logging into the CNG Members Area, please notify the CNG Members’ Area Administrator immediately. They will then be able to help you with questions you might have about updating your username or password, or questions you might have about logging into the CNG Members’ Area.
